Israel's national carrier El Al is competing against 70 airlines worldwide for the Oscar airlines award held annually by the Airline Passenger Experience Association.
Recently El Al's management received a document informing them that the company has been nominated in six different categories including Overall Flight Experience, the Middle East regional category, the best in-flight Magazine, best ground experience, the best cabin ambiance and outstanding safety video.
Some 60,000 passengers participated in the survey handed out by 70 airlines from some 37 countries. Passengers were asked to rate the flight experience, food and service andin-flight entertainment.
The award ceremony will be held in September during the aviation and tourism industry's Apex 2011 Expo in Seattle, Washington.
