After the fire: rehabilitating the Carmel
In December, 2010, Israel's largest forest fire in history destroyed about 9000 acres of the Carmel forest, south of Haifa. A national tragedy, the fire was finally put out with the help of firefighters and equipment from more than 12 other countries. Now scientists and ecologists are looking at the best way to regenerate the forest.
