Desert Challenge 2011 Hosts 1500 Mountain Bikers Racing Near the Dead Sea

Every year for the past 17 years, Israel's Desert Challenge has brought mountain bikers, runners, and families to the desert hills and valleys a few miles from the Dead Sea. This year, the climax of the weekend Festival was the Mediterranean Cup, an international 70-kilometer mountain bike race. The lowest mountain bike race on earth, it offers bikers the opportunity to experience the beauty of the white hills as they test their stamina against some of racing's pros.
