Israel aids the Philippines

Israeli aid delegations — IDF, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, IsraAID, and others — responded to the Philippines’ call for help in the wake of Typhoon Haiyan within the first 48 hours. The IDF and IsraAID set up field hospitals in the devastated areas.

IDF doctors and nurses even restored sight to four patients suffering from Pterygium (who could not afford the surgery in the Philippines).
In addition to medical aid, Israeli humanitarian personnel helped rebuild schools, set up clean water facilities, and provide food and clothing for the needy.
Parents of the first baby born in the Bogo City field hospital named their son, Israel, to honor the doctors.
