Apple & Intel to compete over Israeli engineers
TNW reports that Apple is hoping to open an R&D center in Ra’anana (near Tel Aviv), but only if it can wrangle enough engineers. At the same time, Intel is rushing to bring more experienced semiconductor experts on board to expand its already extensive operation in Israel, which includes facilities in Haifa, Jerusalem, Petah Tikva and Kiryat Gat. The resulting demand for engineers that always seem to be in short supply may have resulted in very attractive offers for the former TI employees.
We hope that the market will be able to produce enough quality personnel to satisfy the insatiable demand of these two global technology giants. After all, more Israeli R&D means more of this, this and this.
