At 35, Israeli judoka Ariel (Arik) Zeevi is a veteran of the martial art, having started when he was just seven years old.
"You can be a hero when you are from Israel because we have only six Olympic medalists," he says. "If you win a medal, like I won in Athens, you can feel the support everywhere."
Zeevi believes the secret to long-term success in any sport is the ability to recover from failure and become stronger. "And you have to come with energy and smile all the time," he adds. The London Games will likely be his final try for the gold.
