The Israeli Artists Group
The Israeli Artists Group of Toronto is a non-profit organization of visual artists who live in Toronto and environs. Each of them has lived in Israel at various times in their lives.
The group was organized in 1992. The purpose of the group is to provide an artistic and social environment for its members. The artists meet monthly and usually there is a lecture by a guest artist. Over the years, the Israeli Artists Group has organized workshops, exhibitions - some for charity - and outings to galleries.
The Israeli artists come from various educational backgrounds in Israel, Russia, Canada, and South Africa. They use various media for their two and three dimensional designs – oil, acrylic, and watercolour paintings, photography, calligraphy, sculpture, ceramic art, jewelry, and fabric art.
Thanks to the Israeli artists’ diverse backgrounds, media and styles, they are able to contribute a refreshing enrichment to the Jewish and Canadian art scene.
